Healthy Eating
In small village primary schools the class splits don’t always follow the Key Stage groups. In a village primary late today a Year 2/3 teacher asked me for ideas and resources for Healthy Eating for her group.
On twitter I had some great replies from Kevin McLaughlin (@kvnmcl). Unfortunately his replies came through as shortened links, which the web filtering in the school blocked. (I believe the reason for this is that the shortening techniques are often used to hide links to very unsatisfactory sites).
Here’s the links – plus a few more useful ideas
A resource pack from the Welsh Grid
Resources for whiteboards from TopMarks
Health and growth from the BBC
Change for life from the NHS
While we were trying to check these resources we looked at the teacher portal to the BBC. The beeb has masses of fantastic resources, but finding them can be fascinating. This access is still showing as ‘Beta’ even though it’s been there at least a year.
Here’s the link – and here is how the site helps you.
Finally, we looked at a site we created a while ago showcasing the resources from the National Education Network. All the (live)links on here should work at home – except for te link to Audio Networks, which is only available from school (or inside the NEN network)
