Writing blogs and websites – fast
Windows Live Writer is a great tool for creating blog posts and pages.
Start thinking website content.
Cropper is a great tool for snapping small parts of the screen.
Add Cropper to Writer and you can quickly make professional looking pages off-line and using a powerful, simple editor.
Make life easier for yourself
Cropper can simply crop to the ‘cut and paste buffer’ (the clipboard) so you can simply right-click and paste or press Ctrl-V – and your image is immediately in Writer.
Here’s the settings on Cropper.
Very simple, quick and effective.
This approach does have one major drawback – look at the properties of your image – all the images have the same name.
Which becomes very difficult to work with when the pictures are uploaded to your website/blog.
Plan B
Cropper has a set of options -
If you follow these sequences, then the images you create will be kept together and they can have useful names.
Firstly, create an empty folder – call it something useful
Then, on the ‘Options’ tab on the Cropper Options menu…
Select the ‘output location’
Then change the full image title name to something like this
if you are writing a post/blog on a ‘set theme’
Or like this
If your material is more varied.
Then when you’re ready to publish, Writer even puts it in the right place
Let’s post the draft to the website
